DIGGING YOUR OWN GRAVE;

Written by: Sarah.

The morning drew dim, misty fog slittered across the window. Fumbling on her long black skirt and silver lace up halter neck top, she runs into the kitchen shoving strawberry jam toast into her mouth, following it with a milky coffee.
"Come on... come on... quickly mother" she whispered nervously
She glared towards me from across the kitchen table.
"We.. we.. we will be late for the funeral.."
"Yeah, yeah! let me roll a god damn cigarette first, child!" mother moans finishing her glass of wine in a hurry and puts a light to her unhealthy addiction.

"Haere mai... Haere mai..."
As her feet touch the brick pavement before the marae, a sudden rush pulsates through the girls body. Squinting her eyes across at her ungreatful step-mother, a soft crimson teardrop slides down her pink rosey cheeks. Removing her shoes she steps forth, into the marae.

"Dad... oh dad..." she cries
Lying infront of her solid cold death, lifeless heart, hard as a rock. Their layed her fathers dead body inside wooden coffin, the only one she loved, trusted and cared for. Memories are brought back by vicous flashes before her eyes. Realization of how much she loved him occurs. Silence forbidenly submerged amoungst the people. She knelt down slowly before the wooden coffin. Mascara ran down her face helplessly, as she cried a face of a thousand sorr ows.
"Come back... dad... can you hear me?... i need you... come home, i can't live... without you..."

As the nightsky fills the air like a sea of shining stars she begins crying quietly to herself, gentley sliding the sharp metal blade across her pale skin. Blood dripping down her wrist, nothing by thoughts chasing her mind - it haunts, wiping her tears she looks at herself in the mirror that sits on her dresser.
"I love you daddy" she'd whisper continously to herself.

Later that evening when the full moon glittered she did the very un-expected. Taking a rope and tieing it tightly around her neck. The girl was terrirfied as her fathers face haunted her thoughts and begged her to stop. Tears streamed down her stubborn face like a waterful of unspoken hopes and dreams.
"I'm... I'm... coming home dad, be... be... with you... I love you" she screamed to towards the empty sky.
Climbing up the tree, she tied the rope to a branch on her dads favourite tree, She looked up and then down at the green grass beneath her. Squeezing her eyes shut she Leaped off the branch - dropped. heart beating slower. struggling for breath. darkness filling her body. suddenly, death occurs. dead - gone.
